MONDAY, MONDAY - Can't trust that day. What's new with you?

Good morning all.  I know I started this yesterday, but it is 3AM here and no one else has started it, so here goes.

Cooked the turkey for church yesterday.  Went to the meal and was treated to a note burning ceremony by the church.  We paid off a rather large loan several years early.

Mary made chili and also turkey stew.  Froze a bunch of it.

This week I have to instruct her how to make Chex Mix.  Gonna surprise the kiddos on Thanksgiving Day.  Haven't made it in a couple of years, used to make it all the time.

Today, I will get  home at 7AM, but have to be at my granddaughter's school at 11:30 for Lunch with your Grandparents Day.  Then part time job at 3:30.  Full time job at 9:45 PM.  Not much time for sleep there.  Already told Mary she is driving today while I sleep.

The luncheon sounds like fun. I'd give up sleep too. Get some zzz's in today.

Tonight the Psychologist is speaking at the support group meeting. He is the main reason for many people getting rejected or forced to wait a long time. We call him "Dr. Strange". He has put most of us through the wringer.

He has been very cordial and willing to donate his time for the group. I have had to change my opinion since talking to him about speaking to the group. Hanging my head in shame. .

The RSVP's have been pouring in, so this should be interesting.

Good morning George and everyone! You're post has made me hungry for chili this morning!

Had a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL trip to the beach with the daughter-in-laws over the weekend.
Ate way too much of course but at least we didn't buy any junk food to keep in the house over the weekend or we would have eaten more. One daughter in law has had lap band and she could tell she needs a fill lol. The other one is very slim and fit and eats healthy and exercises as her life style. I'm so glad she's raising their 2 boys to eat healthy from birth.

Hubby is going to cook pork roast on Thursday with mashed potatoes and green beans.
It will probably be just us 2 and maybe his brother. Then on Sunday, he's doing the turkey thing when both my kids and families will be here to come overs.

I'm looking forward to a very quiet and relaxed Thanksgiving day!!

Hi Y'all,

Had a relaxing and productive weekend.  Watched a lot of movies, celebrated Gil's birthday, housework, cooking, laundry, shopping.  Found the next size smaller section of my closet (WooHoo) and washed the dust off the slacks/pants that now fit.  Put the electric blanket on my bed because it has really been cooling off nights and is supposed to start raining again today. 

Making a big push to get things done at work before driving to Eugene on Wednesday,  Looks like Tom spoke too soon and he won't be able to meet us there for Thanksgiving, rats.  He is so disappointed. 

Carl, the dog, is limping on one paw.  Can't find any injuries so assuming it's muscular and resting him, hoping it gets better soon.  Rotties have a tendency to blow out knees but this is a front paw so I'm holding a good thought.

Grateful and thankful for all that's right in the world.  Prayers for that which isn't.

    We made it back from NC on Friday about midnight. Had 4 more grandkids here this weekend. 
    I finally got laundry done, & put up the tree yesterday.
    Thanksgiving will be us & my son & his wife. I am looking foreward to a quiet day.

My son thats in the military will be in NY this week. More treatment for his daughter.
   He said they are going to the Macy's parade on Thursday. I have to Tivo that & see if I can find them!

Good morning George and Friends,
Busy weekend!  I got up early Sat. and went to Penney's for 7:00 bought a pair of jeans, a pair of slacks, a blouse, and a piece of carry-on luggage.  A side trip to the drug store, and back home by 8:30.  Made a huge piece of vegetable soup (gave some to our elderly neighbors).  Cooked bbq beef and a roast to take to the cabin later this week. 

George and his friend went duck hunting Sat. On the way home they noticed some activity in a culvert along side one of the roads they use to get to and from the duck hunting spot (long explanation - sorry).  There were freshwater catfish trying to get through the culvert to make their way back to the MS River.  George and friend were so excited, they got to noodle catfish, something they've never done before.  Noodling = catching catfish by hand.  Not my cup of tea, but they had so much fun laying on their bellies reaching into the culvert, placing their hands in the fishes' mouths and pulling them out of the water.  George called our son Sat. afternoon to see if he'd want to take Ethan to show him the fish in the ditch.  We went Sun. morning.  George and Dan (son) caught several, much to Ethan's delight!  He clomped around in his boots keeping up with his daddy and grandpa. 

George is off today and was supposed to go fishing with his two of his cousins (one is in from Virginia).  They woke to rain this morning, so fishing is called off.  We are going to dinner tonight with the cousins and their wives.  Should be fun!

Hi George,
I don't usually post regularly.  By the time I can get to it, it is afternoon and most people don't read this post anymore in the afternoon (I think).  AND usually I don't have much to say.  I do enjoy catching up with all of you and feel like you are all old friends.
My son goes to his in-laws in NJ for Thanksgiving and then to our house on Sat. for Thanksgiving II with us in CT.
We will have 30 guests this year.  It will be the first time we will be doing buffet.  I can't believe I spent a $150 in groceries for one day.  But it is wonderful to have so much family around.  I am truly blessed. One great thing about being host is you don't get much time to eat.  Most of the menu is WLS friendly too.
Hubby is waiting for hip replacement in February and not able to get around that well.  So most of the work is falling on me.  By Sunday I think I'll be ready for an afternoon nap.
Most exciting is getting to see the Grandkids.  (They live five and a half hours away.) I haven't seen them since August. I'm preparing a place for them to play kind of out of the way so they don't get tripped over.  They are 5, 3 and 1 years old.  Usually, they would have the run of the house but with so many people I think it's safer for them at the end of the living room.
Well I better get back to work.  Weds. they usually let us off early from work.  I'm crossing my fingers that happens this year as well.

Hi George and All,

That song "Monday,Monday" was a favorite of mine for many years..it'll be singing in my head all day now.

Off today, my furnace quit during the nite. The sun is out today tho and it's supposed to be above freezing by lunch time. Had a dusting of snow last nite...sticking to streets, walks and grass. Looks kinda pretty. I'm not a big fan of snow only cuz it makes driving difficult and you really need to drive defensively in that weather. I know...why do I live here if I don't like snow...well, 1/3 of my children and 2/5 of my grandchildren still live in this area.
I do plan on moving one of these years to a warmer climate. My oldest daughter wants me to move to VA so I can be close to her children..ie..babysit. That would be nice to see them more than once a year but I do need to work fulltime for many years yet.  I've got time to decide.

Countdown to surgery...drumroll please....16 days till surgery!!!!!! Yeah, hear the crowds roar!!!! Well, me anyway.

good to be back here posting to let off some steam lol actually i should say GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! friday was my birthday and had a wonderful day at work and a fantastic night with rick!! he took me to texas roadhouse for dinner...we had ribs..stupid me ate to fast of they were a little to dry and it got stuck right away!!! so i sat and watched rick eat his ribs and all then we boxed up what was left...put the leftovers in the car and walked over to cracker barrel to look around. unknown to me he bought me another gift for my birthday...so anyhow we came back home and he had me open my gifts...first one was an LED fishtank that you plug in and the scenery changes and fish swim...awesome!!! i could sit and watch it forever!!! the second gift was the one he bought at cracker barrel...two harvest angels that i looked at and he saw me doing that so he bought them for me...beautiful i might add...then he gave me my last gift...red roses!!! oh the card he gave me was so pretty it made me cry!!! it was saying things about the journey of our love...wow!!!! straight from his heart he said...he told me he never finds a card that tells it like he wants until he saw this one...man i love him to death!!!! i am so lucky to be with him now!!! in fact its one year ago we met face to face!!!! time sure has flown!!! but i love him more and more each day and he loves me the same way!!!! then saturday morning comes along...grrrrrrrrr no water!!! apartment complex has a water main break and no water!!!! oh great!!! i had to work at 1 and no shower or even wash my hair!!! or brush my teeth!!!! ewwwwwwww water was turned on just when i walked out the door to go to work..no time to brush or shower then...oh well...sighs...then sunday i had off and rick and i went shopping for groceries...got almost everything we need for the week plus thanksgiving...came home got that put away and he made stuffed pork chops...omg they are soooo good!!!! took me a couple hours to eat one!!! we also put the christmas tree up while food was cooking...so much fun to have someone help you with the tree and trimming it!!! while i was resting he went in bedroom (thought to play on pc) and put the white fiber-optic tree up in there...another surprise for me!! he had the ornaments on it we used from last year...our first christmas together, i love you and hugs and kisses...he is so sweet to think of that for me....no wonder i love him like i do!!!! then this morning i take him to work...come home and was going to take shower...flushed toilet...guess what...no water again!!!!! GRRRRRRRR so they are now fixing the water main break....atleast i did brush my teeth this morning before taking rick to work!!!! soooo hair is a mess and i said go get it cut!!! so i did and its so cute!!! love the look she gave me!!!! atleast this time it looks like it was cut!!!! lol short and poofy i have now!!! still no water but they are working on it. sighs...

tonight once again erie will come over and try again to get me hooked up to time warner internet....been a long time trying and if it doesn't work this time then my tower gets hooked up to his monitor and be done with it all!!!! tired of this crap and how time warner is!!! just might cancel time warner and get something else!!!!  that would mean getting a land phone tho so not sure what we will do at this point!!!!

had a skunk near building saturday night sunday morning...P U !!!!!!! saw the skunk on side of building kind of flopping about not going anyplace...maybe one of the dogs got it?? not sure...the critter guy came and took it away tho so not sure what happened to it. poor thing...but glad the stink is gone!!!! wow!!!! thought rick had stinky skunk smelling gas...lol

tomorrow my ex-husband goes to hospital to get preped for his surgery wednesday. he said to thankyou all for the prayers...and i also thankyou for them too!!! he might be the ex but still a large part of my life for many years. hope things work out for him. will let you know soon as i hear how he is doing.

supposed to have rain and snow mixed today then 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow...yeah i will believe it when i see it!!! like the foot or so they kept telling us...LOL we got maybe 1/2 inch is all out of that one!!!! but cold...omg it was so cold!!! glad i got my new winter coat!!!

talked to my mom over the weekend about coming home weekend after christmas...told her we would bring the air bed...she told me to go to a motel...huh??? like i have extra money for a motel?????? well maybe we will just save our money and stay home!!!! so much for "going home" for over night!!!! gezzzz then she says we could stay at my sisters...ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! yeah right!!!! not gonna happen!!! not going anywhere near her!!!!! no way in hell will that happen!!!
